Global Justice Center’s Reproductive Rights Circle enables GJC to implement a crisis response strategy in the wake of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that inserts human rights legal analysis into state- and national-level litigation and public policy debates on abortion access. 

The strategy brings the international human rights system to bear on the ways reproductive coercion in the US violates fundamental rights and steers the US into a shrinking cohort of states with regressive laws and policies on reproductive autonomy. Through these efforts, GJC will advance greater recognition of the human rights impact of restrictive laws, policies and practices around abortion in the US, and greater integration of human rights frameworks in the interpretation and application of laws regulating the provision of abortion. 

Such gains will situate abortion not merely as a personal or political issue, but as a fundamental right integral to the dignity, autonomy, and equality of individuals. They also highlight that access to safe and legal abortion is essential for women and people with the capacity for pregnancy to exercise control over their bodies and lives.

Our goal is for the circle to cumulatively generate funds on a yearly basis for this strategy by enabling us to have a small dedicated team that can maximize opportunities in the United States and international judicial and policy fora. 

We cannot do it without you! Here’s how to participate: 

Circle Members are individuals who can make contributions of between $500 to $5,000 yearly to support the work. Members will have the opportunity to receive insider updates from the GJC team through virtual and in-person meetings and to connect with like-minded circle members. Lawyers who join will also have priority consideration for GJC pro bono opportunities.

Circle Signature Supporters contribute between $5,000 and $25,000 yearly. In addition to access to all Reproductive Rights Circle Member benefits, Signature Supporters will also have opportunities to participate in exclusive strategic exchanges with GJC.

Circle Leadership Donors provide support yearly between $25,000 and $100,000. These donors have access to the above benefits along with opportunities to travel with GJC to learn up close how GJC is working to make change.

GJC Reproductive Rights Foundational Partners provide transformational gifts at $100,000 or more to GJC’s crisis strategy. GJC will work directly with partners to have the most meaningful form of engagement with each partner.
